Last night, Amelia and Stephen hosted a Reformation Party at our house. What fun! With a nod to (no, more like an embrace of) Martin Luther‘s German origins, they concocted and executed a feast that included spaetzle, schnitzel, potato pancakes with applesauce and, of course, German chocolate cake. Now, that menu is not exactly South Beach Diet-friendly, so sweet Amelia made me chicken schnitzel with whole wheat bread crumbs and a sweet potato pancake. Isn’t she thoughtful? It was de-licious.
After supper, we sang “A Mighty Fortress is Our God” and some other “older” hymns. We briefly discussed The Ninety-Five Theses. (I think we were originally going to nail them to a door, pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey-like, but we didn’t get that far.) Then Stephen outlined the Five Solas for everyone.
Now, I’m already thinking ahead for next year.
