Monday, Monday

Yesterday was definitely Monday. First, Peter, whose brain does not function typically, was extremely agitated. On Saturday, while we were hosting Bethany’s shower, he and Joey had made a trip to get some firewood. Somewhere along the road, his wheelchair bounced out of the back of the pick-up and disappeared. We can’t find it. Pastor Bob loaned Peter an adult-sized wheelchair that had belonged to his father, so at least he has some wheels while we are waiting to order a replacement, but dealing with an over-sized wheelchair was not something Peter wanted to do yesterday. And he made sure that we all knew it.

Then, Tim and Margaret started throwing up. Any of you fellow mothers of large families know the dread that rises up in your heart when two of your kids start vomiting/coughing/running a fever because it probably means that you are in for a week of tag-team vomiting/coughing/fevers as the illness makes its way through the family. I shudder just thinking about this.

Finally, to top off the day, Levi, as he was leaving our home after supper, rolled and totaled his car. Talk about throwing up. That’s what I wanted to do when we went to get him after he called us on his cell phone to tell us what had happened. Instead, I burst into tears. We went ahead and took him to the hospital to be checked out and two troopers met us there while one went to the scene of the accident. The trooper at the scene called and asked one of the troopers with us if the person in the car were alive because it looked like an unsurvivable accident.

Now, I want to throw up, again, myself, just thinking about it.

All I can do over and over and over and over again is thank God for sparing Levi’s life. God even generously spared Levi from any injury. It was amazing.

So, after we got back from the hospital, I was getting extra blankets and “barf buckets” and some Sprite for Tim and Margaret and I went right up to bed without shining my sink.

Joey had already done it.

Oh my–I’m so glad Levi is okay! HOW SCARY!

And how nice that Mr. H. shined your sink. 🙂
