NaNoWriMo

Today is the last day of November. I’ll bet most of you knew that, right? But did you also know that it is the last day of National Novel Writing Month? Thankfully, a little more than 15 minutes at a time, I’ve written my 50,000 words so I can be declared a “winner” for 2009. Yipee! And dear Jacob bought me a NaNoWriMo sweatshirt for my birthday. Farewell until next year, NaNoWriMo.

P.S. What does this have to do with Flylady? Well, if I hadn’t determined a time within my Flylady routine that I could devote to writing on a regular basis, I wouldn’t have been able to get my 50,000 words in. I also could not write this many words in one fell swoop, so I had to utilize the “15 minutes at a time” concept. AND, probably most importantly, I have to let go of perfectionism to even begin to participate in NaNoWriMo. I think Flylady is applicable to almost any project for a side-tracked home executive.
