I liked this post on using Flylady’s fun and efficient tools to get children to help around the house. Who doesn’t like to use a fun tool — that actually works — to get things done? I know that my Flylady tools make it much easier and more fun for ME to work around the house.
I also like the title of this post: Getting Children to Help. In thinking about feeling rushed from one Flylady chore to the next, day in and day out, I started thinking about our children’s participation in the overall maintenance of our physical household. Each child does have specific responsibilities already. But, I think, those responsibilities haven’t been evaluated for age-appropriateness in awhile. Perhaps each child’s contributions can be increased to better match their growing skills and abilities.
I’m going to be doing some careful consideration of this topic. I’m rather enthusiastic about the possibilities. And I know I have the fun tools to entice their greater participation.

Yeah, I definitely think they have the capabilities of doing more around the house. But that’s the Nasty Big Sister part of me creeping to the surface. ๐
(But who wouldn’t want to use a Rubba Scrubba?)

There is absoballylutely NOT the slightest hint of “nastiness” in you. You simply are fully aware of everyone’s capabilities. ๐
