Today, I got up (pretty much) immediately when I first woke up, despite the time change, in anticipation of prioritizing some creativity this morning. My goal was to complete a clean copy of another of my embroidery patterns and then transfer one of the designs (there are three designs in this particular pattern) to a tea towel so I could embroider a color suggestion sample.
First, though, I ate a little breakfast, got the preliminary lunch stuff going and read the Bible. I always meditate on a psalm in the morning and right now I’m working my way through Psalm 119. I read in Psalm 119:96 today:
I have seen a limit to all perfection;
Your commandment is exceedingly broad. (NASB)
I have seen an end of all perfection: but thy commandment is exceeding broad. (KJV)
I have seen that everything [human] has its limits and end [no matter how extensive, noble, and excellent]; but Your commandment is exceedingly broad and extends without limits [into eternity]. (Amplified)
I have seen an END of all perfection. I have seen a LIMIT to all perfection. I have seen that everything human has its limits and end, no matter how extensive, noble and excellent. BUT God’s Word is exceedingly broad and extends without limits into eternity. Hmm….
With that verse on my mind, I made my way downstairs to my light box. Guess what. It wouldn’t turn on. Last time I used it, I had no problems. Joey was sitting right there and he tried to make it work (and since he made it for me, he knows how to do that). Determined to reach my goal, I decided to trace the pattern without the light box. Which I did.
Then, I went to make a copy of my of my newly traced, clean pattern on the copier because I can transfer a “xeroxed” design right onto fabric without using a heat transfer pencil, saving a little time. Of course, the copier jammed and for the life of me, I couldn’t see a jammed piece of paper in there at all. I shut the copier doors and the copier resumed printing, but indicated another jam. This time, I could see a paper in there, so I grabbed it, called it good, shut the copier off and went to my ironing board where I transferred the design onto a tea towel. I’m now ready to embroider that particular design as a color suggestion. That might be my project for tomorrow morning.
So, it’s definitely Monday around here. But, I have seen an end of all perfection. If the light box isn’t working or if the copier is giving me fits, I’m not giving up today. All of my embroidery patterns center around God’s Word. And It is exceedingly broad and extends without limits into eternity.
Now, we’ll see how the rest of my Flylady routine falls into place today….
