Large, Homeschooling Families and Flylady

One of the reasons I began this blog was to “think aloud” about applying Flylady principles to our life as a large, homeschooling family. Today, I am really challenged–again–by the dynamics of a large, homeschooling family, especially when it comes to homemaking tasks. Why?

Well, I am busy training these Flybabies in my charge. Training is required because they are children. And children are not mature, yet. Okay, so those are obvious facts. But, in training them, I have to put forth a lot of effort, which results in my getting tired sometimes. And today, I am feeling a little weary of completing my own Flylady chores only to have some very young or significantly cognitively delayed or physically challenged or (dare I say it?) just plain lazy Flybaby come right behind me and “un-do” what I’ve just done.

So, I look forward to the day when I can re-read this post and chuckle about how I ever had to work at training my Flybabies. Maybe I’ll be re-reading this from one of their tidy and peaceful homes. Maybe I’ll be re-reading it from my own tidy and peaceful home.

Eesh, yep. You can come to my home. It’s actually tidy right now.
