Today, I got to attend a Bird-a-Thon with Tim. We birded with a delightful (as all birders seem to be) group of folks from 6:30am until 9:00pm. I think I got some more sparrows finally figured out (I’ve only been working on them for several years already), but that is beside the point of this post.
I was thinking about how Tim devotes a little bit of each day to birding. He prioritizes it and makes time to bird. Then he enters his data into an online database to contribute to an on-going “citizen science” project. If he only birded like we did yesterday and spent a whole day once a year birding, the data he enters would not be as valuable as when he does a little bit each and every day.
Hmm…sound familiar?
